E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling
Posted on 06/15/13
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Publisher: Rockstar Games
Developer: Angel Studios
Release Date: October 26, 2000

The secret life of the off-road smuggler has a merciless, singular rule: Deliver the goods and get rich, or fail and get arrested—or worse. As a new member of a gang of rugged individualists known as "The Forgotten," you must prove to your teammates and potential clients that you have the driving ability and smarts to successfully deliver expensive goods while surviving extreme terrain full of hazards—some of them manmade! Early successes earn you the chance to take on more prestigious missions with richer payoffs.

Many forces stand in your way: Ruthless gangs of rival smugglers will try to steal your stuff. Police, Border Patrol, CIA, and military from the United States, Mexico, and Canada will do their best to chase you down and bust you. Even the rugged terrain itself seems like it's made to stop you.

This PlayStation 2 game combines the action of off-road racing with the lawless adventure of being a smuggler. Gameplay takes you beyond tracks and into truly open and vast wilderness areas along the Mexican and Canadian borders of the United States. Your challenge is to climb in fast off-road racing vehicles and take on missions to smuggle contraband across tightly guarded international borders.

The 30+ missions mostly involve picking up and delivering contraband quickly, without getting busted by the law or robbed by rival gangs. Along the way, living the life of a criminal, escaping the law in high-speed chases, and building a dangerous career accompany the sheer fun of driving like mad across rough terrain. Excellent vehicle physics and responsive controls will keep you playing for hours at a time. On every level, Smuggler's Run delivers the goods.
