OVERVIEW

Designed from the ground up specifically for the PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) system,
World Tour Soccer ’06 introduces a new style of play for soccer videogames. Featuring quick, bite-sized gaming sessions, while allowing users to advance and unlock the next challenge in a ladder type system, World Tour Soccer ’06 lets players test their skills in two new central modes of play, Medal Mode and World Tour Mode. Within those modes, World Tour Soccer ’06 features a collection of point-based gameplay options, each offering its own unique set of challenges and requiring players to utilize a different set of soccer fundamentals as they attempt to take on the World’s best from Africa, Asia, North America, South America and Europe, and ultimately dominate the Globe. Additionally, for hardcore soccer fans, Exhibition Match Mode offers the traditional soccer simulation gameplay, featuring over 70 International Teams with more than 1,500 world-class players and eight international stadiums. Featuring a unique, fast-paced and engaging style of gameplay that is easy to pick up and play, yet difficult to master, World Tour Soccer ’06 is soccer at its core.

KEY FEATURES

  • Play Now Mode - The Artificial Intelligence (AI) will select, at random, the type of challenge and a pair of evenly matched teams for a quick game on the go.

  • World Tour Mode - Players select from 10 different challenges, where points are awarded for successful play. Gamers accumulate enough points to open the next challenge where competition gets increasingly difficult.

  • Medal Mode - Players choose the challenge, continent and teams and attempt to take on the World’s best from Africa, Asia, North America, South America and Europe, and ultimately dominate the Globe.

  • 10 All-New Challenges - World Tour Soccer í¢â‚¬Ëœ06 offers a collection of quick (four-minute), point-based game play options, with each offering unique soccer challenges.

    • Classic Challenge - Players can earn or lose points for each aspect of the game on offense and/or defense, depending on their play. Stylish soccer skills earn points, while poor play on the pitch can hurt a player’s score.

    • The Zone Challenge - Playing in certain areas of the pitch will gain extra points and by adapting playing style and strategy to get “In the Zone.í¢â‚¬?

    • Challenge Plus - By paying attention to special rules and exploiting them at the right times players will get a boost in score. (Example: Completing a cross passes and long passes). However, to keep players on their toes, each challenge will vary.

    • Totally Outnumbered Challenge - Players will start a match with fewer players on their team than their opponents, it will take extra skill and finesses to score.

    • Time Attack Challenge - Players must reach a target before the clock runs down or it’s over. Every target the player passes will add bonus time to the clock. (Example: Time Bonus for every 250 points earned, 100 seconds to reach the first marker.)

    • Pass Clock Challenge - The Pass Clock limits the amount of time that any single player on the pitch is allowed to remain in possession of the ball. Users must maneuver their players and pass quickly, because if the clock runs down, they’ll concede a free kick. (Example: Pass in 2.5 seconds)

    • Checkpoint Challenge - Players must dribble or pass the ball through checkpoints to improve their score. (Example: Each checkpoint passed adds .5 seconds)

    • Shot Clock Challenge - Players must get the ball forward quickly and get a shot off before the clock runs down. If the player’s team still has possession of the ball when the clock runs out, they will concede a free kick.

    • Player Tag Challenge - Players must pass to highlighted teammates without losing the ball. By “taggingí¢â‚¬? the all players, the team will earn the right to score. If they score before all players are “taggedí¢â‚¬?, the goal won’t count. (Example: Five passes required in order to score)

    • All-Rounder - Players must pass to all eleven of their teammates before taking a shot on goal, otherwise goals scored too early will not count.

  • Exhibition Match - Players can choose a variety of options and get on the pitch to play a quick match.

    • Difficulty - Players can choose the difficulty including: Amateur, Pro, World Class and Master Class.

    • Match Length - Players can choose the length of the match from 4-10 minutes.

    • Stadiums - Players can choose stadiums including: South America, North America, East Europe, West Europe, South Africa, North Africa, Asia and Oceania.

  • Online Gameplay - Gamers can take their team of choice on the go and compete against the AI or go head-to-head in Ad Hoc mode against other soccer fans via wireless multiplayer connectivity.

  • Ad Hoc Mode - Allows two or more PSP systems to communicate directly with each other via Wi-Fi connectivity for regional/local multiplayer gameplay. (Up to Four players.)

  • Game Sharing - Allows players to participate in a head-to-head wireless match without both players owning a UMD disc/copy of the game.
