Fortnite Season 11 Map Changes | Is the new Fortnite map bigger?

When you boot up Fortnite Chapter two for the first time, you will immediately notice that the map has changed. It’s now called Apollo, for example. It almost looks as if it is bigger than the original map. Its shape has certainly changed a lot, anyway. Ultimately, however, it is difficult to tell if the new map is actually bigger than the old one or not. Without official word from Epic Games on its size, we won’t know for certain. We’d argue, however, that it is at least of similar size.

We’ve overlayed the two maps in the gif you can see above. As you can see, they look to be a somewhat similar size. There are some differences, however. The original Fortnite map was made up of 10×10 squares. Season 11’s map, meanwhile, is 8×8. The squares in the new map, though, do look bigger than on the previous one. One thing’s for sure, though, that a few of the Named Locations this time around are huge. The map feels more open, despite it being dense with locations and landmarks.
