Monster Hunter Rise: How to find Piercing Claw location

The Piercing Claw is another item needed for crafting in Monster Hunter Rise. Like some other crafting materials, the Piercing Claw is tough to find, as it can only be obtained later in the game. Fortunately, once hunters find its source, it’s not a hard material to farm.

Players can only find Piercing Claws once they’ve reached High-Rank hunts in Monster Hunter Rise. These items don’t drop at all in Low Rank, so there’s no sense trying to farm for them until reaching the appropriate point in the game.

Piercing Claws are described as:

“Dangerous to touch with bare hands, it’s used as a knife in some workshops.”

They’re Rarity 6 Monster Materials and can be sold for 330 Zenny.

Piercing Claws are dropped by some small monsters, but only in High-Rank hunts. Fortunately, these monsters are plentiful. However, the drop rate for it is pretty low, so players will have to be patient to accrue these elusive materials.

The Piercing Claw can be harvested from these monsters:

  • Izuchi
  • Jagras
  • Ludroth
  • Rachnoid
  • Uroktor

An excellent place to farm Piercing Claws would be the Shrine Ruins. It has a sizable population of Izuchi and Jagras, and the large monsters there aren’t very aggressive for the most part. This leaves players free to farm the material at their whims. Additionally, the Shrine Ruins where hunters can find Acute Fangs, so it’s efficient to gather them simultaneously.

It might take a while to gather a stockpile of Piercing Claws, but they’re not as rare as they appear at first glance. Hunters should just make sure not to begin searching for them until they’ve reached High Rank.
