Redesigned PS Vita Not Currently Planned For Western Release

The recently announced PlayStation Vita 2000 is not coming to territories outside of Japan… yet.

When asked by IGN when gamers in the west might be able expect to get their hands on the OLED-less version of the handheld, Sony replied by saying it is "considering every opportunity" but has "nothing to announce for the [Sony Computer Entertainment America] territory."

That said, it's hard to imagine Sony not bringing the redesigned version of the device to the rest of the world eventually. After all, it's a far cheaper model for them to manufacture thanks to its LCD screen and overall design. However, the likelihood of us getting all those crazy cool colors is another story entirely.
