Hogwarts Legacy Can you change gender

Hogwarts Legacy: Can You Change Your Gender?

You can’t change your character’s gender in Hogwarts Legacy. You never explicitly choose whether your character is male, female, or other. However, there are aspects of character creation that imply which gender they present as.

Can you change your character’s gender after you start the game in Hogwarts Legacy?

You can’t change your character’s gender in Hogwarts Legacy because you never pick it in the first place. NPCs refer to you by third-person pronouns throughout the game, and it’s never acknowledged that you present as a male or female.

However, a few options determine what gender you present as in the game. When creating your character, you must choose whether you have a male or female-type body and voice and which dormitory you’re assigned.

Unfortunately, your selection is irreversible once you choose these options in Hogwarts Legacy. While you can change some of the superficial options, there’s no way to go through the entire character creation process again once the game has begun.

It’s possible the above might change in a future patch. But, we’ve found no way to do so after spending extensive time with the game. Fortunately, what gender you present as in Hogwarts Legacy has almost zero bearing on the game, and NPCs react the same to you regardless.
