Best of 2015 Awards: Best Nintendo Exclusive

Winner: Xenoblade Chronicles X

While Super Mario Maker was the top contender for the majority of the year, Xenoblade Chronicles X swooped past in the last minute to take the position of the best Wii title in 2015. We’re not sure how Monolith Soft was able to provide so much content and side quests onto a Wii U disc, with surprisingly solid graphics, a sweeping soundtrack, and complex yet always rewarding gameplay, but Xenoblade Chronicles X was able to do it all. It can be a bit obtuse at times, especially with its oddly timed tutorials. Still, the payoff for your investment in the game is usually worth it no matter what you do in the vast world of Xenoblade Chronicles X. It easily lays the technical standard for all Wii U titles to come in the foreseeable future.

Nominees: Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, BOXBOY, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water
