The Mandalorian Gina Carano Recast

The Mandalorian could recast Cara Dune, but who’ll replace Gina Carano?

Following the firing of Gina Carano as The Mandalorian‘s Cara Dune, many are wondering who will play the key character in season 3 of the show and beyond. While Disney could simply make her disappear, rumors suggest that a Cara Dune recast is happening. If this is the case, which new actor will be brought on to fill the shoes of this ex-shock trooper and survivor of Alderaan?

Who will play Cara Dune in The Mandalorian season 3?

The Mandalorian Gina Carano Recast

Known for Xena: Warrior Princess, Lucy Lawless has been a trending star since the firing of Gina Carano. Perhaps she would be down to fill in the shoes of another warrior character.

Another popular choice by vocal fans has been Milla Jovovich. Best known for being the lead in the Resident Evil films, as well as the main character in the new Monster Hunter movie, surely the Star Wars universe would be a natural fit for her?

Other big names like Charlize Theron and Michelle Rodriguez have also been popping up. It seems that fans have plenty of people in mind for the role, if it is indeed being recast!

The Hollywood Reporter claims that “insiders” have provided evidence that a Cara Dune recast is being considered, while other sources say that the character will be abandoned going forth. Officially, it’s all still up in the air about who, if anyone, will play Cara Dune in future seasons of The Mandalorian as well as other shows like the upcoming Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic.

Prior to this, arguably the most infamous Disney recasting was the character of Rhodey between Iron Man and Iron Man 2. Terrence Howards initially took the role, but it was Don Cheadle who ultimately cemented himself as the MCU’s War Machine.

Some have taken to defending the ex-Mandalorian actor, with BioShock creator Ken Levine saying that her firing does not benefit Jewish people. He stated, “People should not lose their jobs for expressing stupid opinions.

In Star Wars gaming news, Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games are confirmed to be working on an open-world Star Wars title. Here’s what’s known so far.
