Unlockables
Unlock Episode Metal
Players that have a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 on the HDD can unlock Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode Metal by completing Sylvania Castle Zone Act 1 and going to the Map screen. A message will show up letting you know that you can now play as Metal sonic in Episode Metal. Episode Metal is four levels from Episode 1 made for Metal Sonic.
Episode Metal - Have Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 on your HDD and beat Sylvania Castle Zone Act 1Super Sonic
After completing each of the special stages and obtaining all seven chaos emeralds, you will unlock the ability to turn into Super Sonic. Collect 50 rings in any stage and then press triangle to transform.
Trophies
There are 8 Bronze Trophies, 3 Silver Trophies, and 1 Gold Trophy.
A Golden Wave (Bronze) - Defeat all bosses as Super Sonic.
All Chaos Emeralds Found! (Silver) - Collect all seven Chaos Emeralds.
All Red Star Rings Found! (Gold) - Defeat the final foe after collecting every Red Star Ring.
All Stages Cleared! (Bronze) - Defeat the final foe and watch the ending.
Endurance Race (Silver) - Clear all stages without returning to the World Map.
I Love Tails (Bronze) - Play as Tails 50 times.
Metal Sonic Falls (Bronze) - Defeat Metal Sonic in SKY FORTRESS ZONE, Act 1.
Proof of Speed (Silver) - Clear SYLVANIA CASTLE ZONE, Act 1 in one minute or less.
Ring Collector (Bronze) - Beat Special Stage 1 after collecting every Ring.
Rolling Combo! (Bronze) - Activate the Rolling Combo with Sonic and Tails.
Tag Partner (Bronze) - Upload a Multiplayer score or time.
The Adventure Begins (Bronze) - Clear SYLVANIA CASTLE ZONE, Act 1.
