Madden 21 Colin Kaepernick Stats and How to Sign

After a four-year hiatus, superstar quarterback Colin Kaepernick has returned to Madden in Madden 21. The former 49ers QB has been added to the series’ latest as a free agent, and his arrival coincides with an upcoming free-to-play weekend from September 10 through 13. Here’s a look at Kaepernick’s Madden 21 stats and how to sign him to your team.

Madden 21 - Colin Kaepernick Stats and Rating

Colin Kaepernick carries an overall rating of 81 in Madden 21. This puts him ahead of several of the game’s most recognizable quarterbacks, including Kyler Murray (77), Baker Mayfield (78), Cam Newton (78) and Ryan Tannehill (80).

Here’s a look at Kaepernick’s full stats:

Suffice to say, Colin Kaepernick is now one of the most capable players in Madden. It’s quite the surprising turn of events, especially considering that he hasn’t played a pro game in four years following his departure from the 49ers in 2016.

EA’s decision to make him such a powerhouse — outranking at least a dozen other starting QBs — has drawn some ire from series fans. Many have pointed out that his overall ranking in Madden 16 was just 74. Either way, it seems like those years of rest have been put to good use.

How to sign Colin Kaepernick in Madden 21

Kaepernick has landed in Madden 21 as a free agent. That means you’re free to add him to your own team at will. To do so, you need to start a new franchise, then look for the Free Agents option in the menu. After that, all you need to do is search through the list (or sort by QBs) to add him to your roster. If you just want to see how he handles, you can also find him featured in the game’s Play Now mode.
