Activision And Former Infinity Ward Heads Settle Out Of Court

Reports out of Los Angeles today confirm that the embattled former heads of Infinity Ward, Jason West and Vince Zampella, have settled with publisher Activision on undisclosed terms. West and Zampella's lawyer told Kotaku that the "trial is not going forward. All parties have reached a settlement of the dispute. The terms are confidential."

Activision also issued a similar statement following the settlement:

Activision Blizzard, Inc. (ATVI) today announced that all parties to the litigation have reached a settlement of the dispute, the terms of which are strictly confidential.

The company does not believe that the incremental one-time charges related to the settlement will result in a material impact on its GAAP or non-GAAP earnings per share outlook for the current quarter or the calendar year, due to stronger-than-expected operating performance in the current quarter.

Blah, blah, blah… why do I feel like we've somehow ended up the losers in this grand spectacle? These two parties, completely drenched in cash, decided to have their spat out over the course of years, not just months. An entire instance in the Modern Warfare franchise came and went while these people were having a pissing match.

For all the counter-suits and he-said, she-e-mailed, this is what it's come down to? And here I was hoping for some kind of blood bath that would eventually ruin the careers of everyone involved!
