Final Fantasy 7 Aerith

New Final Fantasy VII Remake Image Boards to be on Display at Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition

Square Enix is holding a Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition at Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo from January 22 until February 28. Part of the exhibition will include a Final Fantasy 7 section where visitors will get a chance to view never-before-seen image boards from the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

The Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary event is titled “Farewell Stories Exhibition,” and centers around the recreation of the “farewell stories” seen in the Final Fantasy franchise. One of the farewell stories from Final Fantasy 7 is called “The Words Aerith Left Behind.” This scenario was written by Kazushige Nojima, who was a scenario writer, scenario supervisor, and director on various Square Enix titles (including Final Fantasy 7). It also features a voice-over by Maaya Sakamoto, who did the Japanese voices for Aerith in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 (along with with a ton of other VOs in anime, games, and films).

In The Words Aerith Left Behind, visitors will be able to walk around a recreation of the Sector 5 Church where Cloud first meets Aerith in Final Fantasy 7. While doing so, patrons will be able to view the image boards from the Final Fantasy 7 Remake as a monologue of Aerith’s memories plays.

Patrons to the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition will be able to enjoy an augmented reality system that Square Enix developed that can link your phone with over 150 beacons at the venue. Scanning these beacons will allow you to listen to synchronized background music, character voices, and will help with navigating the venue.

You can see the official website for the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition here, and keep tabs on the event at the official Twitter.
