Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball FighterZ on Switch Is Coming to Japan This September

It may be June, but we sincerely hope you’re ready to punch, kick and Final Flash your way onto Dragon Ball FighterZ on the Switch. Sadly this is only possible if you have a Japanese Nintendo account for your Switch. Otherwise, you may be waiting a little while longer for the anime fighting goodness your pocketable console deserves.

If you cast your mind back to a week ago, you’ll remember that the game’s debut onto the Nintendo Switch was an announcement that received little to no fanfare, having only been included in a small reel during Nintendo’s E3 2018 Direct Presentation. Though that hasn’t stopped fans from wondering when they can get their hands on the Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch edition.

The game is set to release in Japan on the 27th of September, which is only a few months away so Japanese fans won’t have to wait long. Of course, UK/US fans may be feeling disheartened at no release date set for them, but considering that the game has already been localized on the PS4, PC, and XB1, we doubt we’ll have to wait long before a worldwide release is revealed. But until that release date is revealed, keep your fingers crossed.

Nonetheless, despite the hype for a Switch version of Dragon Ball FighterZ, there are some downsides to it. For example, the Switch version will not include any of the DLC that’s been previously released for free. But what does come free with the game will be the download code for the SNES game Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden.

Frankly, we’d have liked free DLC too. But if you’re still uncertain whether this fighting game is for you, but are an avid fan of Dragon Ball then despite the lack of free DLC, the Switch version might suit you best. It comes with a mode called Extreme Type, which makes pulling off the Super Movies easier.
