Microsoft Opens LA Studio To Focus On The “Future Of TV” With Xbox

Let's face it, the Xbox platform is no longer all about video games. It has been Microsoft's goal from day one to invade your living room with the Xbox, and be the TV box to rule them all.

We'll likely see them take that one step further in the very near future—with the Xbox 720 perhaps—as the company has just opened a Los Angeles-based studio, headed up by former CBS Television Studios president Nancy Tellem, to work on "true interactive content" for Microsoft's platform.

According to Tellem, the new studio will be instrumental in "pioneering the future of TV." As such, you can expect over 40 new TV and movie-related applications to come to Xbox over the next year. Sounds like a major initiative for next-gen entertainment on a next-gen gaming box, am I right?
