Is This Gears Of War: Tactics Game Real?

The screenshot above (more below) reportedly shows an alpha build of a game tentatively titled Gears of War: Tactics, a spin-off of Epic's third-person shooter series that uses the Kinect for input. At least that's what VGleaks says.

The article which was run without a byline and without a source for the leak says that Gears of War: Tactics gives players control over four Gears. Players draw a path with their finger to move characters around the map and again use Kinect controls to select actions and attack.

I'm skeptical about the Kinect's use with this game. If the project is real I'd be willing to be that it's been changed from targeting the Xbox 360 and is now a "Windows 8" game, meaning you'll be able to go turn-for-turn with friends whether they're on the Next-Gen Xbox, a Windows tablet, or a Windows Phone. Wouldn't using a touch screen make a lot more sense than prodding the air in front of your TV?

With the success of X-COM: Enemy Unknown and Fire Emblem: Awakening, a Microsoft-branded strategy game can't be completly out of the question, right?
