A series of three new Switch NES games have been announced. VS. Excitebike, Donkey Kong Jr., and Clu Clu Land have been added to the list of classic titles that now work with Nintendo Switch Online. Finally, you and your friends can experience the glory of games rated N for Nintendo Hard over the Internet.
While there are plenty of NES games available to play on the Nintendo Switch, only a handful of the full library is able to work via Nintendo Switch Online. A press release states that three new titles are gaining NSO capability in less than a week. Excitebike, in particular, is one of my personal favorite games on the platform and is such to provide equal parts fun and aneurysm-inducing gamer rage.
Here’s a short breakdown of the three new Switch NES games that are gaining Nintendo Switch Online capability on May 15, 2019:
Clu Clu Land: The brave bubble fish Bubbles has found that the greedy Sea Urchins have stolen all of the gold bars in Clu Clu Land! Travel through 20 stages as you seek to recover the land’s treasure in increasingly-challenging puzzles.
Donkey Kong Jr.: Way before Diddy Kong was a thing, Donkey Kong Jr. was stealing the scene as the mad monkey’s kid. Play as Donkey Kong’s son and rescue your dad who has been captured and imprisoned in a cage by Mario in one of his meanest moves ever!
VS. Excitebike: Start your engines! This motocross game will have you and a bunch of your friends engaging in heart-pounding, side-scrolling races in challenging levels! Play any of the game’s prefabricated levels or make your own with 20 different track parts.
The addition of these three games brings the list of compatible Nintendo Switch Online games to more than 40. You’ll be able to play these new Switch NES games on Nintendo Switch Online on May 15, 2019.
