Yogscast member Caffcast has been accused of abusing his position “as a point of coercion and control,” with “at least 8 separate women” reportedly stepping forward to offer evidence that corroborates these claims. Caffcast, real name Matthew Meredith, joined the Yogscast in 2016 and has over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube as part of the Yogscast network. He was known in the network’s community for his Twitch streams and ASMR videos.
In a message posted to Discord by Yogscast Twitch chat moderator mighty_claw, it was revealed that serious allegations had been made against Caffcast, and that his actions were “condemned by all members” of the moderation team.
“Corroborated and proven evidence has come to light that shows that Caff has been abusing his position as a content creator for at least the last 3 years to pursue sexual relationships with those he has power and influence over, using his position as a point of coercion and control. ” the message reads.
Explaining Caffcast’s actions in further detail, the message continues: “Caff consistently suggested we hire women to the mod team even if those women were fairly inactive community members or unsuitable the hold the position. Some of these suggestions were rejected, however it was later found that others who we accepted were predated on further by Caff.
“We now believe in retrospect that his reasons for suggesting these women were to gain additional access to these members in a closer environment to be able to more easily groom them for his sexual motivations.”
The moderation team for a content creator just came out with pretty big news. We cared so much and worked with this person for years, even calling them a friend, it breaks my heart. If anyone needs support or has anything, we are here for you.

Yogscast CEO Mark Turpin later posted a brief statement on Reddit addressing the allegations. Stating that Yogscast “expects the highest levels of professionalism from its talent,” he confirmed that Caff had breached the company’s code of conduct and that they had terminated his relationship with the network.
“We have removed his channels from our YouTube CMS and have requested Twitch remove his channels from association with the Yogscast,” Turpin wrote. “He is no longer part of the Yogscast collective.”
Caffcast has yet to respond to the allegations and his termination from Yogscast. His Twitch and YouTube channels remain online, though are no longer affiliated with his former network.
