Microsoft Responds To Sony’s Jabs During gamescom

During Sony's press conference at gamescom, SCE's Andrew House wasn't afraid to poke fun at the fact that Microsoft has done a bit of flip-flopping on its Xbox One policies, a move I found to be a bit tasteless. Microsoft has since offered up a rebuttal, emphasizing the company's confidence in its product.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Microsoft's Phil Spencer shared:

The two-way conversation that we have with gamers is critical. If we weren't able to listen then I don't think we're really creating the ecosystem that means people want to come into the platform.

Other people will do and say what they're going to say. Fine. We're running our program. That's a strength of who we are.

In case you missed House's original jab at Microsoft, he said, "While others have shifted their message and changed their story, we were consistent in maintaining a message that is fair and in tune with consumer desires."

What do you make of the back-and-forth between these two console manufacturers? Do you value one approach over the other? Let us know in the comments below.
