Nintendo Bundles Mario And Skylanders With Wii U For Holiday Shopping

Nintendo introduced two new family-friendly Wii U bundles this week for anyone hoping to snap up a new video game console this Christmas.

The first is a Skylanders bundle. This set comes with a basic white Wii U console, a Skylanders Swap Force (review here) starter pack, Nintendo Land, and the GamePad controller. Skylanders obviously comes with the necessary portal of power and figurines, but Mario fans might be more enticed by the second bundle.

While the Skylanders bundle replaces the normal Wii U set Nintendo launched last year, a New Super Mario Bros U bundle replaces the Deluxe set from last Fall. Consumers will get a Black 32GB Wii U, GamePad controller, and New Super Mario Bros U with complimenting and game-changing New Super Luigi U DLC.

The Mario bundle will be available starting November 1st while the Skylanders bundle will be on store shelves by November 15th. Both will likely receive heavy discounts on Black Friday. Nintendo probably hopes that sold-out Xbox One and PS4 supplies will encourage these all-in-one bundles to move.

With Wind Waker HD (review here) out now and Super Mario 3D World just around the corner, is the Wii U getting any more enticing to you?
