GameCube-esque Wii U Controller Coming in Time for Smash Bros.

This fall, gamers will be able to pick up a Wii U-compatible GameCube-inspired controller just in time for the launch of the next entry in the Super Smash Bros. franchise, PDP has announced.

It's called the Wired Fight Pad and is compatible with both Wii and Wii U—all you need to do is plug the controller into a Wiimote you've got lying around. The product manufacturer has confirmed that this new control option will be licensed by Nintendo and retail for just $25.

There's no specific release date yet, but PDP says that the product will be out in time for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Will you be picking up one of these controllers for Nintendo's next-gen brawler, or will one of the other control options be fine enough?
