Square Bringing Timeless Classics to PS3

Once upon a time, a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I used to buy games solely based on the packaging having a Squaresoft logo. I was young, I didn't understand what a developer or publisher was, but I wasn't too inexperienced to recognize a stamp of quality.

Most of these titles were on what I consider the greatest console of all time, mostly due to its library of games: the SNES. I was already addicted to Final Fantasy, which sparked this decade-long obsession with Squaresoft. But it wasn't until I found Chrono Trigger until I knew to look for that logo.

Fast forward to now. Square is no longer Soft, has merged with Enix, and has made some extremely poor business decisions. Hoping to come out of that slump, Square Enix is bringing two of their timeless classics to the PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network. Or so it seems.

The Electronic Software Ratings Board has rated both Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI (or Final Fantasy III as it was released as in the States) for the PlayStation 3.

When the ESRB rates a title, a release usually follows shortly after. Look out for them in the PlayStation Store in the coming weeks.
