Sony’s Beautiful New PS4 DualShock 4 Colors Mimic Apple iPhone 6

What you see above are four new styles of DualShock 4 controller that Sony will be bringing to market. In the case of the Gold, Silver, and Steel Black, the contrast of metals with piano black is exquisite. Their announcement couldn't have come at a better time, as many early adopters of the PS4 have begun experiencing some of the build issues associated with the analog sticks and triggers of the initial manufacturing wave.

You might notice something familiar about the color combinations upon initial inspection. There's a good reason for that.

That's right, Sony appears to have taken a page out of Apple's iPhone book and introduced colors that are virtually identical to the iPhone 6's Gold, Silver, and Space Grey options. Soon you will be able to match your console controller with your phone.

Oddly enough, the less attractive Crystal version is $5 less than the others. While it might not impress visually, it does allow observers to view the complex circuitry that powers the DualShock 4 controller without disassembling it.

It is uncertain if all four color options will make their way stateside. All four will be released in Japan, but Europe will only get the Gold and Silver options. No release date has been shared, but holiday 2015 is likely.
