EMEET PIXY Dual-Camera AI PTZ 4K Webcam Review

The EMEET PIXY webcam is a dual-camera PTZ 4K webcam with what are described as “AI” features. While I’ve reviewed some impressive 4K PTZ cameras in the past, the PIXY tries to stand out as an all-in-one solution for both video and audio. Can it hang with the likes of OBSBOT and other competitors? Here is my review

Twice as nice

What immediately sets the EMEET PIXY apart is its two cameras. These give the product a very cute appearance, similar to the design of Disney Pixar’s WALL-E character. These cameras aren’t just there to be cute, however, as one is responsible for image capture while the other aids focusing, tracking, and other key functions.

After plugging the EMEET PIXY into my PC and installing the software, I began to play around with the various settings. The biggest standout for me here was the PTZ controls. It’s similar to what I’ve seen from OBSBOT, though I actually found the gesture controls worked more consistently with the EMEET PIXY.

Peep those pixels

EMEET PIXY review

When it comes to assessing the video quality, I’m happy to say that the EMEET PIXY delivers a great 4K image. Using a Sony sensor helps a lot here, leading to pleasing colors and contrast. Noise does become a bit of an issue in darker scenes, but that’s expected and a much better trade-off than the shutter speed decreasing and blur being introduced.

Autofocus is also worth highlighting, as the PIXY is able to rapidly move from focusing on a background to an object coming into the foreground. It’s impressively quick, which is great to see as many competitors fail here.

The mics are a highlight

EMEET PIXY review

EMEET seems very proud of the PIXY’s audio quality, so I was eager to record something and play around with the various in-app audio settings. I’m happy to report that, yes, the mics and software work in tandem to deliver a clear and well-treated sound, even with my large office fan whirring away.

Software struggles

EMEET PIXY review

The EMEET PIXY’s hardware is impressive. Unfortunately, the software lets it down. While I did eventually succeed in customizing the various settings and controls, crashes hampered my progress. (Note: This is with the latest available version installed.) Hopefully the app can be updated to be more stable and smooth.

Final Verdict

At $159.99, the EMEET PIXY offers a strong mix of hardware and features that help it stand out in a crowded market. The dual-camera design, sharp 4K image, and reliable gesture controls make it a versatile choice for a range of users. While the software experience could be smoother, the overall package is still quite appealing, especially for anyone looking for an all-in-one webcam with both form and function.
