PlayStation Vita Limited to One PSN Account

The PlayStation Vita is just two weeks away from launching in Japan. We've been reporting on Sony's upcoming handheld since before it was ever announced – we're good like that. But there's one thing we missed. But only because Sony didn't mention it until now. That cat is now out of the bag.

One of the best features of the PS3 is the fact you can have multiple PSN accounts on one console. Many people use this to download content from other regions beside their own. But with the Vita, you're stuck with just one account.

That means no sharing it with a sibling, no other region's content, no swapping PSN accounts. To do that, you'll have to perform a factory reset. Sony clarified saying that the PSP was also limited to one account at a time, but unlike the Vita, it didn't require a factory set to swap accounts.

Is this a dealbreaker for you? It makes my Japan import a lot less appealing, that's for sure. Let's hope that this is something Sony will change after user feedback and endless amounts of bitching.
