BFG 2011 – Skyrim, Prey 2, Rage, Brink, and Hunted

So what does the five-star, five-diamond Stein Erikson Lodge in Park City, Utah have anything to do with Bethesda's video games? I have no idea, but does it really matter? Okay, okay, so there is a reason. From what I heard from one of Bethesda's intrepid PR reps, the story goes that Todd, the lead designer of The Elder Scrolls, was in an airplane from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. when he peered down at the mountains from his window seat and said, "Hey, look. Skyrim." Thus began a concentrated search of a suitable mountain city to hold this year's BFG and Park City, Utah was the winner, if just by the fact that it was only 30 minutes away from a major airport.

Of course, most of us journalists didn't get that story. All we understood was the free breakfast buffets with candied bacon. And definitely all of the… wait, what was that? Oh, I was too busy thinking about candied bacon. That, and being 8,000 ft. above sea level. Yep, there's nothing manlier than walking two flights of stairs, being short of breath, and then looking at five more flights of stairs. The good news? It made us hungrier… for candied bacon….

…and games, I guess.
