New Shadow of the Tomb Raider

New Shadow of the Tomb Raider Trailer Shows off Lara’s Stealth Abilities

A new Shadow of the Tomb Raider trailer recently got shown off by Square Enix, once again showing that there’s nobody quite like Lara Croft when it comes to blending into the shadows. The Square Enix team has really been upping their game with their newest Tomb Raider title, showing off the new main hub Paititi late in July, as well as revealing new mechanical features such as “voice-over immersion” and more you can read about here.

That said, this new video (which you can see below) shows off just how stealthy you can be in the latest game. From taking down enemies in a dirty marsh to recovering by blending into your environment, those who really love to take their time to tease and prod at their enemies before knocking them down will be stoked at the combat tactics in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

But there’s more to stealth than just not being seen. Lara can use the environment to her advantage, climbing up trees and hitting enemies with her arrows to cause confusion and make them lash out at one another. She can also lather herself in mud to blend into the jungle’s greenery. These tactics not only hide Lara but put her at the back of the enemies’ minds as they try and decipher just what is happening around them.

What is obvious is that this Lara Croft is not messing around with the people she comes across. The violence in this trailer just shows how brutal she’s willing to be in order to get what she wants, which in this game, is the end of an ever-approaching Mayan apocalypse. With moves as powerful as this, we hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of Lara, but if it is then at least we hope it’ll end on an aesthetically pleasing note.
