With any new Borderlands game, players want to know the answer to one question. We’re at Borderlands 3 now, so who will be the Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters? Will there be the standard four and then one more, like Borderlands 2? Will we get to see any new sides to the Borderlands universe? Perhaps a character from Borderlands past taking the reigns in a playable capacity for the first time? Whatever the case, you’ve probably seen the trailer by now, but do you know who the Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters really are? Let’s find out together as we let you in on every bit of information currently floating out there in cyberspace.
So, those are the Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters and all the side characters that you’ll run into. Or at least, all the ones in the trailer. It’s truly impressive that the series continues to make four to six distinct Vault Hunters with every new game. Each gameplay style is so distinct, it ensures that fans play the games over and over again. You could even play as the same class twice in a row and get loads of different updates. It’s like a whole new game! There’s a reason that Borderlands always tops the sales charts, even years after the game’s initial release because it’s probably not the jokes.
Now that we know who the initial Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters will be, we can only wonder how the playable cast will be rounded out in DLC. Will we have another character like Gage the Mechromancer with an indestructible floating friend? Perhaps another jokey villain character like Krieg the Psycho? Maybe, just maybe, we’ll see a playable character return for the first time in series history. We certainly wouldn’t mind playing as Claptrap again after We run through the Pre-Sequel. Whatever the case, we’re hopeful that Gearbox has a few great surprises in mind when it comes to new Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters.

The Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters And 6 Other Returning Badasses
The wait is finally over. Gearbox has blown the roof off of Borderlands 3, their long-awaited follow-up to the million-selling looter shooter franchise. Who can you expect to see show up from past games? Who's missing in action? Let's find out which of your favorite badasses will make an appearance. -
Moze the Gunner
Sporting a giant mech named the Iron Bear, Moze is your typical run and gun character. However, the Bear has way more utility than a simple healing turret. Instead, you can drive the mech and a teammate can jump on and shoot Warthog style. -
Amara the Siren
The new siren for Bordlerlands 3, Amara is more melee-focused than Lilith and Maya. Despite that, she still has a mysterious background and glowing tattoos down pat. Her special ability summons energy arms that can pound opponents down. She's definitely the brawler out of the four characters. -
FL4K the Beastmaster
The pets characters, FL4K is an android so he doesn't have to worry about his beasts biting him in the ass. Instead, he sics them on opponents, one of several different beasts that you're used to fighting. It's unclear how many he can utilize at a time, but you seem to have plenty of options. -
Zane the Operative
The class if you want to stay far away from the action, Zane can summon a doppelganger decoy to draw opponents away from him. After that, it's all about the headshots. He also has drones he can summon to support him when he's not at a distance. -
Lilith
The remaining crew from the original Borderlands are back in grand fashion. Going by the trailer, Lilith, Brick, and Mordecai will be backing you up on your adventure. Also, Brick plays the saxophone. Who knew? However, the original Borderlands crew already had voices and characters in Borderlands 2. -
Maya
Now, we'll see the Borderlands 2 characters get the same treatment. Maya the Siren seems to have grown a bit or at least grown out her hair. She also has what appears to be a daughter with her, which could be a fun dynamic. -
Rhys
As for Zer0, he seems to be spending time with Rhys, the protagonist of Tales From The Borderlands. Vaughn succeeded in gaining riches from the vaults (something that many Vault Hunters don't seem to do), so he now runs the company he was working for in the last game. -
Sir Hammerlock
Side character Sir Hammerlock appears in the new trailer alongside his sister Lady Aurelia Hammerlock. Aurelia was a playable character in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and the two siblings were said to have a strained relationship. Glad to see them making amends in this new chapter. -
Marcus Kincaid
Marcus Kincaid is the Russian-accented arms dealer who has played a pivotal role in every Borderlands game so far. So, of course, he'll be back, here flanked by a fellow vendor in Patricia Tannis. The game wouldn't be the same with a little bit of his narration. -
Tiny Tina
Finally, what some might say the breakout character of Borderlands 2, Tiny Tina. While she's divisive, there's no denying that she's popular, and she's obviously grown a bit since the last game. Perhaps her over the top attitude will be a little more bearable now that she's older? Probably not.
