Pokémon X & Y Will Feature France-Inspired Setting, Customizable Trainers, Mounts, And More

Hey all you Pokémaniacs, we've got some exciting new details on the two new versions of Pokémon set to launch later this year.

According to Japanese magazine CoroCoro (courtesy of Serebii), Pokémon X & Y will be set in a completely new region called Karos, which is heavily inspired by France, with Miare City serving as an alternate version of Paris. The magazine also confirms that players will be able to customize their character's hair, skin color, etc.

Interestingly enough, it appears that players will also be able to ride specific Pokémon, as one screenshot shows a trainer riding a grass-type creature called Gogoat. A few other new pocket monsters are shown off in the magazine scans, which you can check out right here.

Pokémon X & Y is set to launch sometime later this year for 3DS.
