What is the Harry Potter Wizards Unite SOS Starter Kit?

Harry Potter Wizards Unite Is the SOS Kit Worth it

As with most other smartphone games, there are plenty of microtransactions that you can purchase in Harry Potter Wizards Unite. This includes the SOS Starter Kit. If you head into the Diagon Alley menu of Harry Potter Wizards Unite, you should see the SOS Kit listed under Featured (or for sale in other sections of the Diagon Alley shop if no longer listed in featured). The contents of the SOS Kit are as follows:

  • 425 Gold
  • 50 Spell Energy
  • Four Potent Exstimulo Potions
  • One Dark Detector

The contents of the SOS Starter Kit should help you out if you find that you’re a little low on essential supplies, but is it worth it?

As stated above, you should find all of the four components of the SOS Starter Kit useful. The 50 Spell Energy, 425 Gold, four Potent Exstimulo Potions, and the Dark Detector will all come in handy, particularly early on into your wizarding career. There’s no doubt that it is useful stuff. It isn’t, however, entirely necessary. You will still enjoy Harry Potter Wizards Unite without buying the SOS Starter Kit.

It appears as though you will only be able to buy the SOS Kit once, too. If you catch it while it’s on sale (for $1.99 rather than its standard $9.99), however, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Even if it is at its standard price, though, you still get a decent deal. $9.99 is what you’ll pay for 900 Gold, so to receive 425 Gold and three more bonuses for the same price actually works out a little cheaper than if you paid for it all separately. The SOS Kit might well be worth it when it’s on sale, but you should enjoy the game well enough without buying it at all. It’s ultimately up to you, unfortunately.
