Purchase Games On PS3, Get “Significantly Discounted Price” For PS4 Version

Given the need for publishers to see substantial Day 1 numbers and Week 1 sales, they are understandably afraid that gamers are waiting for the PS4 version of titles to release. Why waste money on the PS3 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts if they are going to have to spend the same amount of money, if not more, on the PS4 version?

At its gamescom conference today, Sony announced that those who purchase Call of Duty: Ghosts, Watch_Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and Battlefield 4 for the PS3 can purchase a digital copy of the PS4 version of the title at a "significantly reduced price." Just how much this will be has not been revealed, though I hope it's at least a 50% discount. More publishers are expected to join this special offer, but more details will be revealed within the coming weeks.

Does this bargain give you comfort or are you going to wait for the PS4 version of titles anyway?
