Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Photo Mode coming tomorrow

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Photo Mode coming tomorrow

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a single-player game but Respawn is still updating it, which is good, given how buggy it is. But some parts of the updates aren’t just bug fixes and are actual additions. This is the case wit the Jedi: Fallen Order Photo Mode that is coming in tomorrow’s update.

This update is similar to other Photo Modes in that you can activate it by pressing in both sticks. This will pause time and let the user adjust the camera height and rotation, zoom, tilt, focal distance, F-stop, exposure, vignette intensity, amount of film grain, intensity of chromatic aberration, and filters in addition to being able to hide the player or any A.I. wandering through the frame. Most of those features are pretty standard but the ability to add in a spotlight and adjust its brightness and warmth is pretty new. Global Community Lead Ben Walke tweeted a video of this upcoming feature in action.

But this isn’t the only part of this update. While it is the biggest part, there are a ton of other small bug fixes listed in the patch notes. It’s not quite headline-worthy stuff, but given the aforementioned technical shortcomings of the game, it is good to have. The first bullet is pretty clear and sets the tone for the rest of the notes: “We’ve made a pass of the game in an effort to reduce the number of crashes you should encounter. The end result of this is now a more stable game.”

The Jedi: Fallen Order Photo Mode follows a long line of other games that add in such a feature after launch like Control, God of War, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, 2016’s Doom, and Batman: Arkham Knight to name a few. A handful of games launch with it — Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Spider-Man, and Assassin’s Creed Origins are some examples — but most developers appear to add it after the title has hit store shelves.
