Xbox One May Be Releasing On November 8th [Update] Nope!

[Update] The original story came from a source speaking to Kotaku, whom have now spoken to another source close to Microsoft who claims that the Xbox One launch won't be on November 8th, and instead will be later in November. So much for getting the jump on the PS4.

At last week's gamescom press conference, Sony announced a November 15th release date for the PS4. Microsoft was expected to announce their release date, too, but still has it pegged for a vague "November" launch. According to internal Walmart midnight release schedule leaked by someone who handles marketing and signage for large companies like Walmart, the Xbox One may release on November 8th—one week before the PS4.

Sony has had the advantage over Microsoft with their new consoles, but the Xbox One has re-gained much ground since recent policy reversals and announcements of timed-exclusive content. Releasing one week ahead of the PS4 could be exactly what the Xbox One needs to completely even the playing field.

What do you think? Will the one-week earlier availability of the Xbox One sway anyone potentially on the fence about which console to purchase?
