The drifting: when you are coming into a sharp turn, don't decelerate just go ahead and start turning your car in the direction of the turn, then tap the brake. Don't hold it down, just tap it. As you go into the turn, you'll begin to drift. Keep a handle on your car as you go into it. Continue steering in the direction of the turn until you start coming out of it, then compensate by turning slightly the other way.
To fill up your boost meter just complete drifts.
