PS5 reveal event will happen this week, Sony announces

PS5 reveal event will take place this week, Sony has confirmed, with the PlayStation 5 being debuted by Mark Cerny tomorrow, March 18. Sony announced the event on Twitter, saying that it would provide “a deep dive into PS5’s system architecture, and how it will shape the future of games.”

The news follows Microsoft’s reveal of its own, with the Xbox Series X’s specs being broken down in gameplay demos revealed by the company yesterday. Sony now looks to one-up its competitor, finally giving us more details pertaining to its upcoming console.

The time the PS5 reveal event will be broadcast is as follows:

PS5 reveal time

  • 9 AM PT
  • 12 PM ET
  • 4 PM GMT

It’s unclear if this will be a full reveal event highlighting the PS5’s launch games, or it will solely focus on the hardware packed inside the console. Sony has already revealed several key PS5 details, though we have still yet to see the hardware in action.

It seems likely that Sony would reserve game announcements until its predicted major reveal event later in the year, though we could still receive some sneak peeks at a few titles set to launch on the console.
