July 2020 Xbox Games Showcase big X

Next week’s Xbox Games Showcase won’t show off any hardware

The upcoming Xbox 20/20 event will be showing us a ton of Xbox Series X games, but that’s all we’re gonna get. Next week’s Xbox Games Showcase won’t be showing off any hardware, sadly.

“I know everyone is excited for Xbox Games Showcase next Thursday,” began Xbox Games Marketing GM Aaron Greenberg on Twitter. “Seen some wild expectations so if helpful this show has one focus, games. No business, devices[,] or similar news, just games. A whole show about [an] hour long focused on games. Hope you enjoy it!”

That statement from Greenberg essentially confirms something many of us have been wondering about: no, we will probably not see any new details about the Xbox Series X at the July 2020 event.

As disappointing as that may be, we can look forward to seeing an hour-long presentation of next-gen games. Where can you watch the Xbox Games Showcase?

If you care about quality, you’ll also be happy to hear that the YouTube stream will be a 1080p, 60 FPS livestream. The subsequent VOD will be available in 4K at 60 FPS. You can read more about this upcoming show in today’s announcement.
