Microsoft Entertainment Exec Leaves Company Over Change In Direction

Blair Westlake, the corporate VP of Microsoft’s Media and Entertainment Group, has decided to leave the company.

According to Variety, the (now) former MS exec has parted ways with the company in light of a directional change in its approach to entertainment. "It has become clear to me that the organization is moving in a direction that does not fit either my expertise or my skill sets," Westlake said.

"Over the last few months Microsoft has been undergoing a large-scale reorganization," he went on to add. "During that period, I have had the privilege of working with numerous talented and professional people. While I will miss their company and our interaction, I truly believe that this move is in the best interest of all parties concerned."

There's no doubt that Microsoft is in a major state of transition at the moment. With the launch of Xbox One and a more aggressive approach to taking over the living room, it will be interesting to see how the company evolves over the coming years.
