Indie developer Frictional Games has a knack for atmospheric first-person horror games—just see Amnesia: The Dark Descent—which challenge player assumptions with psychological elements.

SOMA continues this trend, albeit with a sci-fi slant this time around, instead of relying on supernatural or alchemical elements.
