Intel Core i7-8700K Reviews

While most reviews have praised the Intel Core i7-8700K, some outlets have noted how Intel’s shift to 6 cores doesn’t particularly impact upon its performance when it comes to video games. However, most critics have generally accepted that this is the best consumer Intel processor yet, even if the addition of two extra cores won’t grant players dramatically improved performance in PUBG.

Ars Technica: “For those who game, there’s no better processor than Intel’s Coffee Lake Core i7-8700K.”

Extreme Tech: “The Core i7-8700K’s combination of high clock speeds and high single-threaded performance allow it to punch well above its weight class.”

PCGamesN: “If nothing else, the 8700K is capably highlighting exactly how much difference having six cores over four cores actually makes when it comes to gaming. Practically none.”

Tech Radar: “The six-core Intel Core i7-8700K processor proves the company can do more with fewer cores than AMD Ryzen – bonus: this chip overclocks like a champ.”
