Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Old Machines: How to Open the Old Machines in Torna the Golden Country

Are you coming across all those Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Old Machines in Torna the Golden Country and don’t know what to do about it? The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Old Machines scattered across the titans in Torna the Golden Country are mysterious, enticing objects that you’ll see from the moment you start the game, to the moment it ends. If you’re wondering how to open the Old Machines in Torna the Golden Country, let us help.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Old Machines: How to Open the Old Machines in Torna the Golden Country

The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Old Machines aren’t as tricky to crack open as the beginning of the game would make you think. Though you can’t bash them open with Blade skills, or with the tap of the A button like those Green Barrels you’ve been coming across, you won’t have to wait too long until you’re able to pry open the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Old Machines like most other props scattered around the Torna the Golden Country.

To do so, however, means completing a side quest. It’s one you’ll come across as you progress the main story on Gormott, but mistake it for a generic kill quest and you’ll miss out.

Once you reach the Hidden Hunting Camp on the Western ridge of Gormott, you’ll come across a man overlooking the lake. Talk to him and he’ll tell you how to craft the Silver Seeker item you’ll need to open the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Old Machines.

To craft that item, you’ll need the following items:

  • Puzzletree Wood
  • Gregarious Scorpion
  • Dicy Stone
  • Sand Upa
  • Krabble Carapace

You’ve likely found a good amount of these materials already, but you’ll find Dicy Stone near the camp itself. As for Krabble Carapace, you won’t have to face off against the level 30 or higher Krabbles by the quest giver. Follow the lake to around toward the center of the map again and you’ll find much lower level versions of the same mob. Kill one or two of these and you should get the Krabble Carapace you need.

Then head back to the campfire and use Hugo’s crafting skill to make the Silver Seeker. You can now open the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Old Machines.
