Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has many great missions, but there are also quests that try to give you as little information as possible. The whole basis of the game’s new Exploration Mode, for example, is making your way in the world with little assistance. Even on Guided Mode, however, the AC Odyssey Snake in the Grass mission still gives you little to go on. So let us help you find that rotten cheat Elpenor, with both low spoiler and full spoilers!
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Snake in the Grass Quest – Hints (No Spoilers)
We’re assuming you’ve received the “Snake in the Grass” mission after meeting with Elpenor in Pilgrim’s Landing in Phokis, after he goes and betrays you at the end of “The Wolf’s Fate” quest. He certainly doesn’t seem to have your best interests at heart. It’s time to track him down, but even on Guided Mode you’re not given any directions other than that Elpenor is still somewhere in the Phokis region.
It’s quite large, so where do you look? All we will say is that you should remember the name of the mission, as well as your father’s last words to you, “beware the snakes in the grass.” Now, open up the map of Phokis and examine it closely. What’s a likely place for a snake to hide?
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Snake in the Grass Quest Full Spoilers
East of Pilgrim’s Landing, beyond the Desphina Fort, is an area of Phokis called the Valley of the Snake. Elpenor is located right in the center, in an area behind the word “valley” called Snake Temple. You can’t miss it: it’s filled with armed guards and has what appears to be the body of a gigantic snake over the ground. The Satyr’s Respite synchronization point is directly above it, so head to that first.
Once you’ve killed the guards on the outside, head inside the nearby cave (it’s up a small path behind the snake) and Elpenor is there. He’ll probably fight you the moment he sees you. Kill him and loot his body, and everything around him. Congratulations, you’ve completed Snake in the Grass!
