How to Open Blackout Mystery Box in Black Ops 4
Opening the Blackout Mystery Box is no small task, especially if you drop near its spawn and find yourself with no weapons. With it being lifted from the series’ Zombies mode, the undead will appear in the area surrounding the Mystery Box. So how do you open it?
In order to open the Blackout Mystery Box, you’ll need to kill all of the zombies located around it. You’ll know that more zombies are shuffling around from their groans, and it won’t be until the last zombie is downed that you’ll be able to get your hand on the box’s precious loot. You don’t need to be the win responsible for killing the zombies — your teammates or even rival players can get rid of them, too — but you’ll need to be the one to open the box in order to grab the weaponry and items stuffed inside it.
However, killing these zombies is a big risk. While they don’t put up too much of a fight, your gunfire will alert any nearby players, meaning you’ll be left open to enemy attacks while fending off the horde. Sneaky players could even camp out near the Mystery Box and wait for their opponents to down the zombies, before popping off their rivals and stealing the goodies for themselves.
Black Ops 4 Blackout Mystery Box Spawn Locations
The Black Ops 4 Blackout Mystery Box will spawn in one of five different locations on the Blackout map. Some are located in named areas, while others are situated nearby. There will only ever be two Mystery Boxes appearing on the map at any given time.
Here are the Blackout Mystery Box spawn locations:
- Asylum.
- Graveyard, south-east of Asylum.
- Lighthouse.
- Array.
- West of Turbine.
The map will be made aware of a Mystery Box spawn when an electric blue spotlight beams down on one of these locations. As Mystery Boxes contain some of Blackout’s best loot, you can expect to stumble across a few players if you head towards one.
What’s in the Blackout Mystery Box?
The Blackout Mystery Box has the potential to contain every weapon in the mode, though can also reward players with rare weapons such as the Ray Gun, Galil, and MP40. You can also obtain equipment such as ammo, armor, and health, with it providing you with a bunch of neat items that will help you on your way to victory.
Extra ammo for the rare weapons can’t be picked up throughout the match, so you’ll have to use these guns very sparingly. Each comes equipped with a full barrel upon acquiring them, though after you’ve run out of ammo, you’ll have to switch out to a standard weapon.
