The Fortnite 6.30 update patch notes (Fortnite 1.92 update patch notes PS4) have now been published by developer Epic Games. These new Fortnite update patch notes dive deep into the latest changes and improvements made to the game, and are a weekly highlight for many players. Epic Games has remained incredibly consistent over the last year, providing new content each and every week. Just as consistent is the required downtime, which is expected to last around 1-2 hours. Players won’t be able to matchmake during this time. Let’s dive into those new Fortnite patch notes!
Fortnite 6.30 Update Patch Notes (Fortnite 1.92 PS4) – Mounted Turret
The Fortnite 6.30 update patch (1.92) brings a powerful new weapon to the game. The Mounted Turret can be deployed on the ground, with players then being able to jump in and swivel around to shoot at enemies and buildings. The weapon’s description reads: “Place the Mounted Turret and hop in to apply some suppressive fire! Careful not to overheat.”
The Mounted Turret Legendary trap can be found in floor loot, supply drops, Vending Machines, and Supply Llamas. It has unlimited ammo, but will overheat if fire is sustained for too long. Once it is placed on the ground by a player, anyone can use it, friendly or otherwise.
To counter the Mounted Turret, players can shoot at it directly or destroy its structural support. It cannot be destroyed by eliminating the block below it, as that is invulnerable.
Fortnite 6.30 Update Patch Notes (Fortnite 1.92 PS4) – Food Fight Limited Time Mode
Teased ahead of the patch on social media, Epic Games is now bringing the war of the food worlds to an end, with an ultimate face-off between Durrr Burger and Tomatohead supporters.
The Food Fight limited time mode is now available. It pits Durrr Burger versus Pizza Pit, with two teams on either side of the map. Players must build a huge fort to protect their mascot in the “building phase.” Then, when the impenetrable barrier is lowered, they must fight to destroy the enemy’s mascot.
Mode Details:
- An impassable barrier will be spawned along the center of the map for the first several minutes.
- Each team will have an under-construction restaurant near the center of the map. Inside is a giant mascot head representing that team.
- If the mascot head is destroyed, that team loses the match.
- Teams should use the time that the barrier is up to construct a defensive fortress around their restaurant.
- As soon as the barrier lowers… fight to take out the enemy mascot before they destroy yours!
- Special red Supply Drops spawn at the start of the match. These hold a handful of weapons, ammo, consumables, traps and a few hundred metal building materials.
- Players will respawn after 7 seconds when eliminated, keeping their inventory.
- Eliminated players spawn a percentage of their ammo upon elimination, as well as 30/30/60 wood/stone/metal materials.
- 100% extra resources are gained from gathering.
- Building resources found on the ground increased from 20 to 50 per instance.
- No explosive weapons or items are in this mode.
It isn’t a coincidence that both the Durrr Burger and Tomatohead skins are now available through the in-game store. Having players pick a side means purchasing the relevant skin. Whichever side comes out on top, Epic Games is the true winner here!
Fortnite 6.30 Update Patch Notes (Fortnite 1.92 PS4) – Glider Redeploy Changes
A massively controversial change to Fortnite is the glider redeploy, which is much like Marmite, with players either loving it or hating it. Epic Games has made more changes to the glider redeploy mechanics with the Fortnite 6.30 update patch (1.92).
Glider redeploy will now only activate the glider, with skydiving no longer being available. This should make quick flanks more difficult. (The skydiving state will still be made active during the Battle Bus fall, when using Launch Pads, or any type of Rifts.) We’ll have to see how these changes affect gameplay today!
Fortnite 6.30 Update Patch Notes (Fortnite 1.92 PS4) – Other Balance Tweaks
Other aspects of Battle Royale have been tweaked with the Fortnite 6.30 update patch (1.92). When a vehicle passenger uses the Grappler, the movement has now been made more smooth, with the vehicle momentum retained.
What’s more, the pickaxe damage against players has been bumped up from 10 to 20, meaning it’s now a much more viable weapon to use at the start of a match. Get those pickaxe kills to humiliate the opposition.
Key bug fixes include the Assault Rifle shell ejection no longer obstructing aim down sights reticle. Balloons also now have proper audio and visual effects if several are popped at the same time. An issue where players could take damage when leaving a Quadcrasher using balloons has also been fixed.
Fortnite 6.30 Update Patch Notes (Fortnite 1.92 PS4) – Last Word Revolver
Save the World players have gotten a bit of love in the Fortnite 6.30 update patch (1.92). The Last Word Revolver has been added to the weekly store. It is a mid-range revolver with a limited magazine, but boasts excellent headshot damage. It is slow and precise when aiming down the sights, but firing from the hip allows for rapid-fire spam for a more damaging, but less accurate spray of bullets.
The Last Word Revolver is available now (November 14) until November 21.
Fortnite 6.30 Update Patch Notes (Fortnite 1.92 PS4) – Xbox One Keyboard and Mouse Support
Revealed during the Xbox XO18 event, Fortnite will be getting official keyboard and mouse support on the Microsoft console. Though the Fortnite 6.30 update patch (1.92) doesn’t explicitly bring this to the game, it is expected to be implemented soon. Eager players will want to stay tuned for future updates on this.
Those worried about keyboard and mouse users getting an advantage shouldn’t fret, as Epic Games should be implementing separate matchmaking based on the different control inputs, keeping those with traditional controllers separate from the keyboard and mouse wielders.
