Fortnite Game of Thrones event rumors are spreading rapidly, with talk of a potential crossover sending fans theorizing about upcoming ice zombies (White Walkers?), dragon eggs in the castle, and more. Following the Fortnite Avengers event, which had big bad Thanos added to the game along with his incredibly powerful Infinity Gauntlet, anything certainly seems possible. Fortnite is a massive game that has an influence over millions of people. That makes it an attractive IP that other brands can use to reach a wider audience. With winter possibly coming to the game, it certainly seems possible that Game of Thrones enemies and potentially dragons could be appearing before the end of Season 7!
Fortnite Game of Thrones event – Is there going to be a crossover?
When looking for any official confirmation of a Fortnite Game of Thrones event, neither Epic Games nor the Game of Thrones team or cast have publicly acknowledged any crossover. However, there is no denying the similarities between Fortnite‘s current in-game events and the Game of Thrones show. Winter has come to the game, just like in the show. Ice zombies are also appearing in-game and look similar to Game of Throne‘s White Walkers. What’s more, there are Fortnite dragon eggs!
With the final season of Game of Thrones scheduled to launch on April 14, it certainly makes sense for HBO to be looking to partner with Epic Games for a massive marketing push. It worked with The Avengers, so perhaps it could work with GoT.
Of course, Game of Thrones targets a more mature audience, and so perhaps could seem a bit out of place in such a child-friendly game. This is one of the main reasons to doubt the probability of such an event.
Fortnite Game of Thrones Event – What is the Icy Sphere and Ice King?
The mysterious Fortnite Icy Sphere is thought to be linked to a big event rumored to take place on Saturday, January 19. Timers seen on the TVs in-game suggest a 2 PM ET start time. Based on footage datamined from the game, it’s likely that the Ice King character will appear in the center of the Ice Sphere and cause the rest of the map to be completely covered in snow.
