With Far Cry New Dawn out now on Xbox One, PC, and PS4, many of you are wondering if there is any sort of Far Cry New Dawn split-screen co-op. Online co-op was a key feature in Far Cry 5 and it looks like it will be again in New Dawn. Read on to discover if you can join a friend in Far Cry New Dawn local multiplayer and split-screen co-op.
Far Cry New Dawn Split-screen co-op | Is there local co-op?
While you can co-operate with friends online in the game, there is no local split-screen co-op in Far Cry New Dawn. It appears as though gone are the days when you could sit on a couch with your friend and play a game such as Far Cry together in local co-op. While local split-screen hasn’t appeared in a Far Cry game since Far Cry Instincts, there is always the hope that the feature will return. There is no Far Cry New Dawn local split-screen co-op.
Far Cry New Dawn Split-screen multiplayer | Is there any local multiplayer?
Unfortunately, there is no local multiplayer and split-screen in Far Cry New Dawn at all. As stated above, Far Cry hasn’t seen any sort of local multiplayer since Instincts. You won’t be able to play through the campaign in co-op on the same screen. There aren’t any other local multiplayer modes to speak of, either. Far Cry New Dawn is a single player game that you can take online for co-op. That’s it.
While there isn’t any sort of local multiplayer in Far Cry New Dawn at launch, Ubisoft could always add the feature in via a patch. While it is extremely unlikely that this would happen, you can’t write it off completely. We certainly wouldn’t be expecting any sort of Far Cry New Dawn split-screen co-op or multiplayer modes to be added at any stage, however.
