Cadence of Hyrule - How to wake Link or Zelda

Cadence of Hyrule Hibiscus Potion | Wake Zelda or Link

There is a lot for you to do as you explore the world in Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda (or just Cadence of Hyrule for short). At the start of the game, you will have to choose whether you want to play as Zelda or Link. While choosing one of the characters will wake that particular character up, the other will remain asleep until you find the Hibiscus Potion and wake them up. This guide will go over everything that you need to know to find the sleeping Zelda or Link, locate the Hibiscus Potion, and wake up Link or Zelda in Cadence of Hyrule.

Cadence of Hyrule | How to find Link or Zelda

The first thing that you’ll need to do if you’re planning on waking up Link or Zelda and adding them to your party is to find their sleeping body. Again, the sleeping hero will be whichever character you didn’t choose at the start of the game. To find their sleeping body, make your way to Kakariko Village. Now, the tricky part here is that your map is randomized with each new playthrough, so Kakariko Village might be in a different area of the overworld map for me than it is for you.

Cadence of Hyrule - How to get the Hibiscus Potion

Explore around until you find Kakariko Village and then make your way there. Once arrived, find the house that Link or Zelda is asleep in. You should also spot an old man nearby that will tell you of a Hibiscus Potion, the item that you’ll need to acquire if you wish to wake up the sleeping hero.

Cadence of Hyrule | Hibiscus Potion location

To find the Hibiscus Potion, grab your gear and make your way to the graveyard in Kakariko Village. Look along the eastern border of the village to find the graveyard just north of the Shooting Gallery.

With the graveyard located, look for the largest gravestone in the area and then push it out of the way to reveal an entrance to a hidden underground dungeon. Make sure you have plenty of hearts, then head inside and make your way through the dungeon. The boss in this dungeon is Shadow Link, so make your way to the end and then take him down. With Shadow Link defeated, grab the Hibiscus Potion and head back to the sleeping hero and use it on them.

With Zelda or Link awakened, you’ll have unlocked your second character in Cadence of Hyrule. Each character has different strengths and weaknesses—for example, Link can use his shield to deflect enemy attacks, whereas Zelda’s shield only blocks the damage that it would have dealt. You can continue your journey from here to save Hyrule and restore balance to the world.
