Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Blood Fountain | How to drain the blood fountain?

The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night blood fountain is one of the first things that players come across at the beginning of the game. The first time you come across it, you’re not given the option to go under the blood fountain. However, later in the game, it becomes clear that you can drain the blood fountain. Unfortunately, understanding how to drain the blood fountain in Ritual of the Night isn’t super clear and has some players confused. To help out, we have put together a guide to show you how to drain the blood fountain in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Blood Fountain | Drain the blood fountain

When you first pass the blood fountain at the beginning of the game, you will not be able to do anything with it. However, after you have played for a couple of hours, you will come across a boss that will give you a special ability which will allow you to go back and drain the blood fountain.

Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Blood Fountain

As you’re playing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, eventually you will come across a boss called Bloodless located in the Dian Cecht Cathedral. The boss will have 3200 HP and will have a light and slashing weakness. Once you have taken on the boss and defeated it, you will be given a special shard offering the Blood Steal ability. This will allow you to, well, steal blood.

Now that you’ve unlocked the Blood Steal ability, you can make your way back to the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night blood fountain. Once you’ve arrived, you’ll be able to use your newfound ability to drain out all of the blood from the fountain. This will allow for passage underneath the fountain to the lower castle areas beyond.

Now that you’ve learned how to drain the blood fountain, you may need some more help throughout the game. You’re in luck, as we have tons of different Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night guides that will help you out while playing through game.
