A brand-new Final Fantasy 14 update is available to download and install right now on PC and PS4. Skip to the end of this guide to read through the complete list of FF14 5.05 update patch notes. FFXIV 5.05 update

As stated above, there is a lot of new additions, fixes, and changes to be discovered in this new Final Fantasy 14 update. Primarily, however, the 5.05 update brings with it the Savage version of the Eden’s Gate raid. You’ll also find new Lyhe Ghiah dungeons to play through, new Allagan tomestones of phantasmagoria, and more. Time to get your notebook out, it’s about to begin.

New Playable Content

One of the major new additions to Final Fantasy 14 in the 5.05 update is the Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah. Available only to those who have upgraded to Shadowbringers, these new dungeons can be taken on in an attempt to earn priceless treasures. You can only take part in the Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah after you have found and opened treasure coffers from zonureskin treasure maps.

On top of the new Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah, you can also now take part in the Savage version of the Eden’s Gate raid. You must be at least a Disciple of War or Magic level 80 to take part, and two or more of the same job isn’t allowed. You also must have completed the “The Next Piece of the Puzzle” quest and speak to Lewrey in Amh Araeng. Completing the Savage Eden’s Gate raid will earn you an Endengrace coffer.

  • As a result of recent balance changes, the actions required to complete the monk job quest “Return of the Monk” have been adjusted.

Treasure Hunt

5.X

  • The Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah have been added
    • The Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah, a special instance similar to the Aquapolis and the Lost Canals of Uznair, can be accessed after finding and opening treasure coffers obtained from zonureskin treasure maps. Here, players will have the chance to test their luck and obtain priceless treasures.

  • New Craftable items have been added to the company workshop

  • The following adjustments and additions have been made to subaquatic voyages.
    • New submersible parts are available for exchange.
      • To obtain these parts, speak with the material supplier in any of the residential districts.
    • New destinations have been added.
    • The maximum level for submersibles has been increased from 50 to 60.
      • From level 51 onwards, each level increase raises the submersible’s attributes.
    • A wider selection of items can be obtained from voyages.

    • Coeurl Form | Effect duration increased from 10 to 15 seconds.
    • Mantra | Radius increased from 7 to 15 yalms.
    • Form Shift | The coeurl form bonus “Extends Greased Lightning duration to maximum” has been added.
    • Meditation | The additional effect “Opens all five chakra when used outside of combat.” has been added.
    • Riddle of Earth | Earth’s Reply bonus now nullifies all action direction requirements.
    • Riddle of Fire | The effect “increases weaponskill recast time by 15%” has been removed. | Damage increase reduced from 30% to 25%.
    • The Forbidden Chakra | The condition “Can only be executed while in combat” has been added.
    • Enlightenment | The condition “Can only be executed while in combat” has been added.
  • Rogue/Ninja
    • Gust Slash | Combo potency increased from 250 to 300.
  • Samurai
    • Meikyo Shisui | Recast time reduced from 60 to 55 seconds.
    • Meditate | Effect duration increased from 30 to 45 seconds.
    • Tsubame-gaeshi | Cast time has been made instant.
    • Kaeshi: Higanbana | Cast time has been made instant.

    • To access Eden’s Gate (Savage), players must speak with Lewrey in Amh Araeng (X:26.8 Y:16.4) with a level 80 Disciple of War/Magic after completing the quest, “The Next Piece of the Puzzle.”

  • Rewards

    • Upon completing Eden’s Gate (Savage) duties, a treasure coffer will appear containing an Edengrace Coffer. Using this item transforms it into gear corresponding to the user’s current job. In addition, the coffers that appear upon completing Eden’s Gate: Sepulture (Savage) yield weapons.* Unlike previous Savage raids, treasure coffers do not yield armor and accessories.

    • If your party contains players replaying an area prior to the weekly reset, the number of treasure coffers appearing upon completion will decrease. Furthermore, players will be ineligible for rewards from treasure coffers as well as Eden’s Gate apocrypha when replaying an area prior to the weekly reset.

      * If there are one to four players in your party replaying an area, only a single treasure coffer will appear. If there are five to seven players in your party replaying an area, no treasure coffers will appear.By selecting “Duty Completion,” players will not be matched with those who have already completed the duty.
  • Item Exchange

    • In addition to gear, players will receive an Eden’s Gate apocrypha from each area, which can be exchanged for gear of your choosing.

      * Players will only receive one Eden’s Gate apocrypha per area each week upon completing said area for the first time. By speaking with Ghul Gul in Amh Araeng (X:26.6 Y:16.4) or Yhal Yal in Eulmore (X:10.0 Y:11.5), players can exchange Eden’s Gate apocrypha from Eden’s Gate (Savage) for corresponding gear.

Resolved Issues

  • An issue in the scholar job quest “A Safe Place to Hide” wherein the quest required that Lustrate be used outside of combat. However, due to recent changes, this is no longer possible, meaning that the quest could not be completed.

    * A different action is now required to complete the quest.
  • An issue wherein certain machinist job quests could not be completed after reaching level 76, which upgrades Hot Shot to Air Anchor.

    * A different action is now required to complete the quests.
  • An issue in the FATE “Attack on Highbridge: Denouement” wherein, under certain conditions, more than one Bertram would appear.
  • An issue wherein changing the appearance of a Garuda-Egi to that of a Carbuncle would cause the effects for Wind Blade to be displayed incorrectly.
  • An issue wherein the tooltips for the summoner PvE action Tri-disaster were incorrect.
