You can get additional Skylanders in three ways:


1. you can earn enough gems so that you can buy them outright from within the game.


2. whenever you buy a Skylanders toy you'll be able to enter the Web Code that comes with it into the game.


3. you can activate Bluetooth on your device and connect your Portal of Power to import creatures directly into the game.
