The Fortnite Friends List bug can be a huge pain to deal with, especially if you’re trying to invite several players to your party. The auto-scrolling and other issues can make it very different to select a player and invite them. Even in a game like Fortnite, which has received a huge number of patches (usually on a weekly basis), weird glitches like this are still rearing their ugly heads. If you’re on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iPhone, or Android, read on for our list of Fortnite Friends List bug fixes.
How to fix the Fortnite Friends List bug
The good news is that developer Epic Games is aware of the Fortnite Friends List bug and is working on a fix. The bad news is that it’s not yet ready and so isn’t in the game. However, there are a couple of workarounds that can get the Friends List working again.
Fortnite Friends List bug fixes:
- When using a mouse or a touchscreen, scroll through the Friends List using the small white scrolling bar. This should prevent the Friends List from automatically scrolling back up.
- If the Friends List is empty on PC, despite you having added friends, you’ll need to restart the launcher for the Friend List to populate.
- If the Friends List is empty on PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch, you’ll want to try restarting the game. Also, ensure that both you and your friends are set to “Online.”
Compared to an actual official Fortnite Friends List fix, these workarounds aren’t ideal, as they involve a lot of faffing about and trial and error. With that said, at the time of writing, these troubleshooting tips are the best chance a player has of getting back into the game with their friends. Good luck to you!
