Battlestate Games’ Escape from Tarkov has already enjoyed enviable success on PC, all before a final version 1.0 release date has even been announced. Despite this, as you might expect for a game in closed beta, it does suffer from its fair share of technical issues. One such issue is the prevalent Escape from Tarkov “Unable to reconnect to the game” error that’s preventing some people from enjoying the online shooter.
If you’ve fallen victim to this and find yourself unable to reconnect in Escape from Tarkov, then stick with our guide and see if there’s anything you can do to fix it.
Is there an Escape from Tarkov ‘Unable to reconnect to the game’ fix?
Lots of players have reported encountering Escape from Tarkov‘s irritating “Unable to reconnect to the game” error. Seemingly, it most commonly strikes when leaving a match — be that mid-match or after its legitimate conclusion — and encountering a connection issue seemingly at random. For whatever reason, this can cause problems with Tarkov that prevent you from regaining access.
You aren’t locked out for good, however, which is certainly good news. You will have to endure a bit of a wait and some tedium, though, which isn’t great when all you want to do is get back to looting and shooting with your pals.
There’s no known hard and fast Escape from Tarkov “Unable to reconnect to the game” fix, with rebooting your hardware and/or software not being guaranteed to yield any results. Other conventional fixes don’t help either, though remaining in-game and retrying the connection process over and over can reportedly get results… eventually.
It’s annoying, but seemingly your best bet. It’s likely that time is a factor here, so you may be better served to step away from the game and come back later if you’re fine with not regaining access to Escape from Tarkov the instant you’re able to. Just keep in mind that Escape from Tarkov is currently in beta, so issues like this are par for the course.
